In 1967 The DEVIANTS
led by the charismatic MICK FARREN recorded their very first album at
IBC studios which cost the princely sum of £700 and unleashed upon the world
what some people came to describe later as punk/garage music but then was
called the "London underground scene".
The original LP was released on the Underground Impresarios label but went
mainstream after its initial release and was licensed to Decca in the UK and
Sire in the USA.
PETER SHERTSER who founded the URE label and owns the masters tells
his fascinating story in the informative sleeve notes written by James
