DAVID MARTIN is a man of many talents. As a songwriter he has written songs for ELVIS PRESLEY, BARRY MANILOW, The CARPENTERS, CLIFF RICHARD, GUYS & DOLLS, BOYZONE to name a few. As a performer he achieved Top 20 success as vocalist on both “There’s A Whole Lot Of Loving” GUYS & DOLLS (number 2) and BUTTERSCOTCH “Don’t You Know” (number 17).

Early in 2013 Angel Air was offered an album by David which is a mix of standard songs by the very best of the American Songbook Songwriters. The sound of The Terry Coffey Trio and David’s soothing tones has propelled the label to release the album on a brand new imprint Angel Air Nostalgia.

In anyone’s estimation this album is long overdue and if current reaction is anything to go by, there is little doubt that it will make an enduring impact with lovers of tasteful and romantic music for some time to come.

Reviews

For 'Embraceable You' and 'Teach Me Tonight,' though, the veteran's voice adapts velvet, rather than silky, to make the approach as sexy and seductive as the pieces demand. The result might seem too smooth but the listener's been warned from the off, so there's a lot of enjoyable moments here. 4 Stars.

DMME.net (July 2014)

Accompanied by the Terry Coffey Trio, Martin is sounding mighty focused and sincere here. In addition to the title track, our favourite cuts include "Almost Like Being In Love," "Just One Of Those Things," and "Let's Face The Music And Dance." Let's hope this is the beginning of a long string of solo releases from this ultra-talented musical icon.
